Drive separate resistive circuits

Will DO562 report an output overload so software can replace the external protection?
No. ABB lists neither an overload message nor internal output current limiting. The required external protection must be engineered independently of the PLC application; software observation is not a substitute for it. -
Can two DO562 outputs be joined to operate a one-ampere load?
No. ABB explicitly does not permit paralleling two outputs. Use a suitable separately engineered interface for a load that exceeds the 0.5 A channel rating. -
Where must the inductive-load discharge energy be handled with DO562?
ABB requires external demagnetization individually for each inductive load. Do not assume an internal suppression circuit absorbs that energy; select the external suppression and switching duty for the actual load. -
May an external manual switch apply 24 V directly to a DO562 output terminal?
No. The datasheet states that resistance to 24 V feedback is not provided. An external control path must not drive voltage back into the module output. -
Are turn-on and turn-off delays symmetrical for DO562?
No. At rated load ABB specifies a maximum of 50 microseconds for a zero-to-one transition and 200 microseconds for a one-to-zero transition. Account for the different limits when evaluating a switching sequence. -
Can a vertical DO562 installation use the full horizontal output-current allowance?
No. ABB specifies vertical operation from 0 to 40 C with 50% digital-output derating. Apply both the temperature and current conditions for the actual orientation. -
Does the 11 Hz lamp figure also permit inductive loads to switch at 11 Hz?
No. The 11 Hz value applies to a 5 W lamp load. ABB separately limits inductive loads to 0.5 Hz; choose the correct load-specific limit. -
Does reverse-polarity protection of the DO562 supply protect every output fault?
No. The supply specification and output fault protection are different functions. ABB lists supply reverse-polarity protection but states that the outputs are not short-circuit or overload proof and require external fuses.
