Description
The ABB SA811F (3BDH000013R1) is a power supply module for the Freelance AC 800F distributed control system. It converts a wide-range AC input voltage of 115-230 V AC (self-adjusting, with permissible range of 90-260 V AC) into the stabilized DC voltages required to power the AC 800F controller modules.
The module provides two output rails: 5 V DC at 5.5 A and 3.3 V DC at 6.5 A, with a maximum total output power of 35 W. The electronically controlled output voltage provides high stability and low residual ripple. The outputs are electrically isolated from the AC input.
The SA811F is designed for use with the PM 803F CPU module and requires Freelance software version V7.1SP2a or higher. It is not compatible with the PM 802F CPU, which uses the lower-capacity SA801F power supply.

The module includes enhanced power-fail prediction and shutdown procedures. In case of a power loss of 5 ms or more, the power supply module generates a power-fail signal. This signal is used by the CPU module to shut down operations and enter a safe state of connected outputs of remote I/Os. This controlled shutdown is required for a safe restart of the system and the user application when power is restored. The output voltage remains within its tolerance limits for at least another 15 ms after the power-fail signal, allowing a total mains voltage drop of 20 ms to be managed in compliance with NAMUR recommendations.
