Fuseless Electronic Protection: The board uses a microprocessor-based electronic protection scheme for normal fault conditions, eliminating the need for semiconductor fuses by leveraging the current-limiting DC link inductor.
DC Link Monitoring: The board monitors the 56V DC output voltage from the drive's power supplies. If the voltage drops below approximately 49V, the ACB triggers a DC Fail trip (Fault Codes 48–51) to protect internal control circuits.
Thermal and Mechanical Protection
Heatsink Temperature Monitoring: The board processes signals from temperature sensors on the heatsinks to detect and trip on overtemperature conditions (standard on air-cooled units).
Cooling System Supervision: In air-cooled configurations, the ACB monitors air flow pressure switches to ensure the cooling fan is operating correctly before allowing the drive to stay in a "run" state.
Safe Torque Off (STO): When equipped, the board supports the STO option, which allows the drive to safely remove power from the motor without a full shutdown, initiating a coast-to-stop action.
Fault Documentation Logic: The board's logic is designed to hold fault messages on the operator interface; users are instructed to document all faults before attempting a reset to prevent propagating damage to the SGCTs or SCRs.
