Electrical design emphasizes protection and integration convenience. The X20CP1486 operates from 24 V DC (–15% / +20%) with a maximum input current of 2.2 A, and includes reverse polarity protection and an integrated non-replaceable fuse. It supplies 7.0 W to the X2X Link bus for powering downstream I/O slices, with support for parallel and redundant operation of the X2X Link supply to enhance system availability. An independent I/O power supply output delivers 24 V DC with a permitted contact load of 10.0 A, capable of driving substantial actuator loads directly from the CPU module. Galvanic isolation is implemented between the PLC core and the Ethernet/POWERLINK/USB interfaces, while the RS232 and USB ports share a common ground with the PLC

Prepare Node Address Switches: Locate the two rotary address switches on the underlying base module. Use a flathead screwdriver to rotate both switches to their default positions (typically 0), aligning one arrow to 12:00 and the other to 9:00.
Mount the Base Segment: Snaps the base module into position directly on the TS35 DIN rail. Slide it laterally into the male/female locking grooves of any adjacent existing X20 backplane slices until it clicks.
Insert the CPU Module: Align the back runners of the X20CP1486 processor block with the plastic guide grooves of your mounted base housing. Slide the block straight forward firmly until the triangular locking clips snap into place.
