Description

The 3300/35 is a Six-Channel Temperature RTD Input Monitor that provides six independent channels of on-line temperature monitoring for virtually all types of temperature measurements. The 3300/35 accepts inputs from up to six resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), making it suitable for comprehensive temperature monitoring applications in industrial machinery where continuous thermal surveillance is required.

The 3300/35 is configured with a 0-400°F full-scale operating range (Option A:03) and accepts 3-wire 100Ω platinum RTD inputs with an alpha of 0.00385 (Option B:02). The 3300/35 is factory calibrated when ordered in a system, and ranges allowing recorder output and computer interface signals to be proportional to the input signal can be subsequently reprogrammed by the user in the field. Platinum RTDs with 0.00385 alphas are the worldwide industrial standard and are recommended for all applications.

Features:

  • Six independent channels of on-line RTD temperature monitorings
  • 3-wire 100Ω platinum (α=0.00385) RTD input
  • 0-400°F full-scale operating range
  • Hermetically-sealed alarm relays
The 3300/35-03-02-02-01-00 provides six independent channels of continuous temperature monitoring for rotating and reciprocating machinery. Each channel measures temperature via Type K thermocouple input and compares the measured value against user-programmable Alert and Danger alarm setpoints. The monitor front panel contains a 4-digit 7-segment LCD that displays channel readings.

Four LED indicators provide at-a-glance system status. The green OK LED indicates overall channel health. When constantly illuminated, all six transducer channels report OK status. When off, one or more channels are in a NOT OK condition. A flashing OK LED at 5 Hz indicates stored error codes in memory. Two alarm LEDs signal Alert and Danger conditions independently; flashing operation denotes a rack First Out condition. The red Bypass LED indicates active bypass functions.

The 3300/35-03-02-02-01-00 Bently Nevada Six-Channel Temperature Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Alarm setpoints are digitally adjustable from 0 to 100% of full-scale. The module provides epoxy-sealed relay outputs for Alert and Danger annunciation. The relay module installs behind the monitor front panel and offers OR voting logic for relay drive. AND voting requires external wiring of relay contacts in series.
The 0–200°C full-scale range was factory-calibrated during manufacturing. Proportional recorder outputs and computer interface signals can be reprogrammed in the field if required. The module interfaces with the 3300 System Monitor for rack-wide alarm acknowledgment, reset functions, and communications processor connectivity via STATIC and DYNAMIC data ports.
  • Turbines: Monitors steam/gas turbines in power generation plants
  • Compressors: Safeguards centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating compressors in oil/gas processing
  • Pumps & Fans: Tracks large fluid-handling pumps and ventilation systems
  • Generators & Motors: Detects shaft imbalances or bearing defects in heavy electric drives
  • Keyphasor Distribution: Buffers and distributes phase reference and speed tracking data

Thread Engagement: Screw the probe into the mounting hole, keeping thread depth safe (maximum thread engagement is generally 1.5 times the nominal thread diameter to prevent binding).
Gap Voltage Setting: Adjust the probe distance from the target shaft/machinery using a multitester. Set the initial mechanical gap to output the specific target DC voltage (typically around -10 VDC or half-scale value specified on your Proximitor sensor datasheet).
Locking: Tighten the locknut firmly once the correct gap voltage is reached to prevent shifting during machine operation.

Technical notes

The 3300/35 carries ATEX self certification (Option D:02) for hazardous area applications, and the monitor rack must be installed in a weatherproof housing to meet ATEX requirements. The 3300/35 operates over an operating temperature range of 0°C to +65°C (+32°F to +149°F), with a storage temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F), and is suitable for relative humidity up to 95% noncondensing.

FAQs

  • Can the 3300/35 module be hot-swapped?

    +
No, it is generally not recommended to hot-swap modules in the legacy 3300 rack while under power. Removing the module or its power supply can disrupt continuous machinery protection and risk static discharge damage to the circuitry. Always power down before servicing.
  • What kind of visual display does it have?

    +
Unlike vibration modules that utilize bar graphs, the 3300/35 temperature monitor features a 7-segment LCD to indicate measured temperature values.
  • What is the primary function of the 3300/35?

    +
The module provides six independent channels of continuous temperature monitoring. It accepts inputs from up to six Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) to track temperatures on bearings, windings, and other critical machine locations.
  • What sensor types are supported?

    +
It accepts inputs strictly from RTD temperature sensors (differing from the 3300/30 which handles thermocouples)
