The 330902-04-48-10-02-00 is intended for use with centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, process gas compressors, and other machines with tight installation requirements where counter bore, side-view, or rear-view restrictions limit the use of standard Bently Nevada 3300 and 3300XL 5mm and 8mm transducer systems.
The 330902-04-48-10-02-00 is also ideal for small target applications, such as measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51mm (2in) or axial position on flat targets smaller than 15mm (0.6in). The 330902 is primarily used for radial vibration and radial position measurements, axial (thrust) position measurements, tachometer and zero speed measurements, and phase reference (Keyphasor signals) on fluid-filmed bearing machines where a small shaft or reduced side-view is present.

The probe features a 1/4-28 UNF-2A threaded case for mounting into probe holders or brackets in confined spaces. The case is constructed from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel, with a 5.0 mm diameter polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip. The overall case length is 48 mm. The probe tip is non-metallic and electrically insulated from the case, preventing electrical interference and allowing direct contact with conductive shaft surfaces without short-circuiting the eddy current field.

The probe operates on the eddy current principle, generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field that induces eddy currents in a conductive target surface. The resulting impedance change is measured by the companion 3300 NSv Proximitor Sensor (330980 series), producing a DC voltage output proportional to the gap between the probe tip and the target surface.
