Description

The 43501 Low Pressure Cable Seal provides ameans to pass through a single hole in amachine case or other barrier one to four 95-ohm transducer cables or one to two 25mm DEand 50mm DE transducer cables. A moldedsilicone rubber grommet provides a seal toprevent leakage of fluids along the outer jacketof the cable(s). The seal mounts in a holetapped with either ½-NPT or ¾-NPT pipe threadsin the machine and has external pipe threadson both ends to mate to the tapped hole and tomating conduit or housings.

The seal is rated to 345 kPa (50 psi) acrossgrommet high pressure to low pressure. Theseal is rated only on the cable outer jacket andseal body itself. It does not seal leaks throughthe cable braid or center conductor due topinholes or cuts in the cable jacket or throughthe probe or connector. The primary intendedusage is to seal lube oil to exit bearing housingsand machine cases.

The seal is rated to 1.0 psi absolute, but islimited in practice by the cable, probe, andconnector as with pressure.

The Bently Nevada 43501-01-04-01 is a Low Pressure Cable Seal for use with Bently Nevada 3300XL proximity transducer systems. The 43501-01-04-01 provides a means to pass through a single hole in a machine case or other barrier one to four 95-ohm transducer cables, or one to two 25 mm DE and 50 mm DE transducer cables. This multi-cable pass-through capability of the 43501-01-04-01 simplifies cable routing and reduces the number of penetrations required in machine housings.

The 43501-01-04-01 incorporates a molded silicone rubber grommet that provides a seal to prevent leakage of fluids along the outer jacket of the cable(s). This grommet design of the 43501-01-04-01 ensures that lubricating oils and other process fluids are contained within the machine case, preventing environmental contamination and maintaining proper equipment lubrication.

The 43501-01-04-01 is rated to 345 kPa (50 psi) across the grommet from high pressure to low pressure. The 43501-01-04-01 is also rated to 1.0 psi absolute, but is limited in practice by the cable, probe, and connector as with all seals. This pressure rating of the 43501-01-04-01 makes it suitable for typical bearing housing and machine case applications where moderate pressure differentials exist.

The 43501-01-04-01 Bently Nevada Low Pressure Cable Seal may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 43501-01-04-01 features a molded silicone rubber grommet that provides a seal to prevent leakage of fluids along the outer jacket of the cable(s). The seal mounts in a hole tapped with 1/2-14 NPT pipe threads in the machine and has external 1/2-14 NPT pipe threads on both ends to mate to the tapped hole and to mating conduit or housings.
The 43501-01-04-01 is rated to 345 kPa (50 psi) differential pressure from the grommet high-pressure side to the low-pressure side. The seal rating of the 43501-01-04-01 applies only to the cable outer jacket and seal body itself. It does not seal leaks through the cable braid or center conductor due to pinholes or cuts in the cable jacket, or through the probe or connector. The primary intended usage of the 43501-01-04-01 is to seal lube oil to exit bearing housings and machine cases.

Prepare the Seal: Unscrew the low-pressure (back) nut from the cable seal assembly.
Configure the Grommet: The grommet comes with one pre-punched hole and three partially pre-drilled holes. Use an awl or punch to open only the number of holes required for your specific number of cables.
Insert Cables: Thread your transducer cables through the low-pressure nut, followed by the rubber grommet, and finally through the main body of the cable seal. Leave enough slack inside the machine case to make the necessary sensor connections.Positioning: Ensure the grommet is seated correctly in the seal body before tightening.

Technical notes

The primary intended usage of the 43501-01-04-01 is to seal lube oil to exit bearing housings and machine cases. The 43501-01-04-01 is rated only on the cable outer jacket and seal body itself; it does not seal leaks through the cable braid or center conductor due to pinholes or cuts in the cable jacket or through the probe or connector. Users of the 43501-01-04-01 should ensure that cable jackets are intact and free from damage prior to installation.

FAQs

  • What is the 43501-01-04-01?

    +
The Bently Nevada 43501-01-04-01 is a Low Pressure Cable Seal designed to allow transducer cables to exit machine cases or bearing housings while preventing lube oil and fluid leaks.
  • What cables are compatible with this seal?

    +
It accommodates one to four 75 Ω or 95 Ω (3300 and 7200 series) transducer cables, or one to two 25mm and 50mm DE transducer cables
  • Will this prevent all leaks from the machine case?

    +
It only seals the outer jacket of the cable. It will not stop leaks that travel through the cable's center conductor or braid (e.g., if the cable is cut, pierced, or the connector itself leaks).
  • How is the seal mounted?

    +
The seal mounts into a hole tapped with 1/2-NPT pipe threads in the machine and has external pipe threads on both ends to connect with standard conduits or housings.
