The technical performance of the Bently Nevada 330105-02-12-10-02-00 (3300 XL 8 mm Reverse Mount Probe) is defined by its interaction with the complete transducer system (probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor),Standard calibration is for AISI 4140 steel. Using other materials will significantly change the scale factor unless the system is specifically recalibrated.
The probe generates a continuous voltage signal that a monitor (like the 3500/40M Proximitor Monitor) uses to perform the following:
Radial Vibration Protection: Detects changes in shaft dynamic motion within bearings to prevent internal machine contact.
Axial (Thrust) Position Protection: Monitors the longitudinal movement of a shaft. If the shaft moves beyond set limits, it triggers a "Danger" alarm to trip the machine before thrust bearing failure occurs.
