General Electric or GE developed the IS200TBTCH1BBB thermocouple terminal board as one of the components in the Mark VI series. The Mark VI and the several other series in the Mark lineup were developed for the control and automation of industrial turbines which run on gas and/or steam. The IS200TBTCH1BBB is a type of PCB, short for printed circuit board. The Mark VI Turbine Control System Series that this IS200TBTCH1BBB Thermocouple Terminal Board was manufactured for, as it is known at length, exists with a specific set of possible functional applications in the control and management systems of General Electric-compatible gas, steam, and even wind turbine control system automated drive assembly.

Connect the thermocouple wires directly to the two I/O terminal blocks. These removable blocks are mounted on the terminal board and held down with two screws. Each block has 24 terminals accepting up to #12 AWG wires. A shield terminal strip attached to the chassis ground is located on the left side of each terminal block. In Mark VI systems, cable the TBTCJ-type connectors to the I/O processors in the VME rack

The 24 thermocouple inputs can be grounded or ungrounded.They can be located up to 300 m(984 ft) from the turbine control panel with a maximum two-way cable resistance of 450 2. TBTC features high frequency noise suppression and two CJ reference devices, The I/O processor performs the analog-to-digital conversion and the linearization for individual thermocouple types. In Mark VI simplex systems using TBTCH1C, one VTCC is used. In Mark Vle simplex systems, two PTCC packs plug into TBTC, obtaining 24 thermocouple inputs. For TMR systems using TBTCH1B, the thermocouple signals fan out to three J- connectors.The Mark VI system accommodates 24 inputs and the Mark Vle system accommodates 12 inputs.
Composite Diagnostic Alarms: When any hardware limits are breached, the board generates a composite diagnostic alarm to notify the system of abnormal conditions.
 
Hardware Verification: Each connector on the board has an ID device that is interrogated by the I/O processor. If a mismatch is detected (e.g., wrong board type or revision), a hardware incompatibility fault is generated.
 
Redundancy Support: It supports Simplex, Dual, and TMR (Triple Modular Redundant) configurations. In TMR setups, the board can fan inputs to three separate I/O packs to ensure continuous operation even if one control path fails.
 
Backup Protection signals: In specific turbine applications, this board provides the necessary thermocouple inputs for exhaust over-temperature protection in gas turbines
