Description
The IC695PNS001 Scanner Module is a PROFINET scanner module designed by GE Fanuc. It is used to connect the PROFINET I/O controller to remote universal I/O racks or RX3i modules. The power requirement of the module is 3.3 Volts DC at 1.2 Amps or 5 Volts DC at 1.1 Amps. It features 4 switched Ethernet ports, 2 RJ-45 connectors, 2 SFP cages, 1 Micro-B USB 2.0 connector, and SD and SDHC cards. The IC695PNS001 Scanner Module also provides 32 input status bits and 32 output control bits as PNS status and control bits. This module comes with 8 indicator LEDs that glow in 22 patterns to provide the users with operating error messages, updates about the status of the module, and module identification.
The IC695PNS001 PROFINET Scanner Module is designed to be used with RX3i PLC CPU versions such as the CPU315, CPU320, CPE305, and CPE310 CPUs. The modules on the rack are scanned by this scanner in order to retrieve and exchange data within the PROFINET I/O LAN. It supports 1 CIDR IP address and 5 MAC addresses. The Proficy Machine Edition software version which is required for use with this IC695PNS001 module is version 8.50 SIM 2 or later. Since this module is open equipment that has user-accessible live electrical parts, it must be installed inside a suitable enclosure for safety.

The IC695PNS001 supports daisy-chain/line, star, or ring (redundant media) topologies, providing flexibility for different industrial network architectures. The IC695PNS001 supports transfer of the IO-Device Name to another PNS module using an SD card, eliminating the need to connect a configuration tool such as Proficy Machine Edition when replacing a module. The IC695PNS001 includes a USB port for field updates of firmware using WinLoader; the USB port is for firmware upgrades only and is not intended for permanent connection. The IC695PNS001 provides 32 bits of input status data and receives 32 bits of output control data, with the application program in the IO-Controller system able to monitor the input status bits for the PNS module.
