The IC755CSS15CDA is a QuickPanel+ Operator Interface (OI) being manufactured by Emerson Automation. This device is a microprocessor based OI and hosts a licensed instance of Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact 7 Operating System (OS). The device processor is a Freescale i.MX535 with clock frequency of 1GHz. It also comes with a 2D/3D Graphics processing unit and NEON SIMD Media accelerator. Additionally, it is installed with a Vector floating point coprocessor. The IC755CSS15CDA has a bezel with the manufacturer branding written.
The display screen available to this device is a 15-inch projected capacitive display with multi-touch screen interface. It has an SVGA resolution of 1024 x 768. For connection to controllers or other automation devices, the IC755CSS15CDA has Two (2) serial interface with One (1) interface supporting RS232 point to point connection while the other interface supporting RS485 daisy-chain topology. Connectivity to modern network and devices is made possible by the built-in dual Ethernet interfaces that supports 10/100 mbps transmission speed. External peripherals may also be installed to this device such as mouse and keyboard for alternative input interfaces; USB Flash drive for external data storage and USB enabled printers. Additionally, it also supports use of Secure Digital Cards (SD cards) that may function as additional storage location.
The IC755CSS15CDA carries certification and compliance from multiple certifying bodies such as UL 60950, CE (EN 60950-1, EN 61000-6-4, 61000-6-2), FCC Part15 Class A, IP65F (JEM 1030), CUL Mark - US/CAN Zone 2, ATEX Zone 2*, NEMA 4X and RoHS. The device’ cooling methodology is natural convection with operating temperature of 0degrees C to +55degrees C.
Battery-Backed SRAM: It contains 512 KB of battery-backed SRAM to protect and retain critical retentive data in the absence of primary power.
Backup Utility: A specialized software utility is required to save changes made to the Windows registry to flash memory, as the main unit is not entirely battery-powered for OS-level persistence.
Convection Cooling: Thermal protection is managed via passive convection cooling, requiring an operating environment between 0 and 55°C to prevent overheating
