The serial communications expansion module provides a Modbus Master port for a Genius NIUremote I/O drop The serial port can be used to interface with a wide range of Modbus slavedevices such as controllers, VFDs, bar code readers, marques and much more The data istransferred to and from the NIU over the Genius LAN and is compatible with any controller thatsupports Genius Global Data.
Overload Auto-Shutdown: If the total current load on the serial port exceeds 200mA, an internal current-limit switch automatically shuts down serial communication and stops the external power flow to prevent permanent module damage.
Spike Protection: All ports are equipped with spike protection to safeguard the module against transient voltage surges.
Noise Filtering: The module utilizes noise-filtered signal transmission to ensure data integrity in electrically noisy industrial environments.
