      Discrete output module IC200MDL742 provides two groups of 16 discrete outputs.Each point has electronic overcurrent protection and short circuit protection, andgenerates a fault if either condition exists. The outputs are positive or sourcing typeoutputs. They switch the loads to the positive side of the DC supply and thus supplycurrent to the loads.

      The external power supply used to power the loads must provide sufficient fieldpower for the module during short circuit events. When a load is shorted, aninadequate external power supply may allow field power to drop below the specifiedoperating range, causing misoperation of the module. The external power supplymust be capable of providing short circuit energy without degradation of outputvoltage levels.

      The IC200MDL742 Discrete Output Module comes with an external power supply to provide the required field power to the module during short circuit situations. The power supply meets the energy requirement for short circuits while maintaining the output voltage level. Batteries and capacitors can be also used as local energy storage to provide insufficient power. This module is compatible with a wide range of I/O modules, host controllers, and PLCs to create a standalone I/O station. It can be mounted in any orientation on a DIN rail using a wide variety of carrier types. The 32 output points are divided into 2 groups and each group consists of 16 output points and DC+ and DC- terminals. It also offers a 1.6 Amps of typical steady-state overcurrent trip with 0.7 Amps to 2.5 Amps of current range. The IC200MDL742 Discrete Output Module provides hot inserting facilities to quickly connect the module to an industrial application.
