The HIMA F3238 is an 8 Channel Safety-Related Input Module designed for the HIQuad X safety automation system. The F3238 is used to connect safety-related proximity switches, DIN 19234 (NAMUR) proximity switches, and resistor-wired sensors in safety instrumented systems (SIS) for industrial process plants.
The HIMA F3238 provides 8 isolated safety-related input channels that process digital signals from various safety sensors and switches. The F3238 accepts 1-signal inputs of 6mA current (including cable plug) or 24V mechanical contact signals, making the F3238 compatible with a wide range of safety field devices.

Each channel accepts either a 6 mA current signal or a 24 V mechanical contact input. Signal thresholds are defined as 2.1 mA to 6.0 mA for logic "1", 0.35 mA to 1.2 mA for logic "0", with wire break detected below 0.28 mA and short circuit above 6.5 mA. Maximum line length is 1,000 meters with 0.5 mm² cross-section and line impedance not exceeding 50 Ω.
