The FC-SCNT02 can be used as a spare part for the FC-SCNT01 module and functions identically to the FC-SCNT01 module. The FC-SCNT02 can function with another FC-SCNT01 module in a redundant SMSC Controller configuration, supporting high-availability safety architectures. The FC-SCNT02 contains increased memory capacity compared to the FC-SCNT01, providing enhanced processing performance for complex safety logic applications.
The FC-SCNT02 is supported from Safety Manager SC release R200.2 and higher, ensuring compatibility with modern system software. The FC-SCNT02 is required for DNP3 Outstation protocol support introduced in Safety Manager SC R212, enabling the Safety Manager SC to act as a DNP3 Outstation with Experion Server or Control Edge RTU functioning as the DNP3 Master.
