Series 9440/15 CPU & power modules (CPM) for Zone 2 are used to supply up to 16 IS1+ I/Omodules and field circuits with intrinsically safe power. RS485 with PROFIBUS DP V0/V1 HART isused for communicating with the automation system. The CPMs support system redundancy andoptical rings. A DTM and process bus or ServiceBus are used for asset management integration.

The isolation repeater is suitable for Zone 2/Category 2 installation environments and Zone 1/Category 1 fieldbuses using intrinsically safe "Ex op is" fiber optic cables. It is compatible with the 9186 series devices, supports optical loop connections, features comprehensive diagnostic functions and fault information contacts, and is compatible with PROFIBUS DP at speeds up to 1.5 Mbit/s.
