The DI524 provides 32 digital input channels operating from 24 VDC with a 1-wire connection topology. The channels are organized into 4 logical groups of 8 channels each, with terminals 1.0–1.7, 2.0–2.7, 3.0–3.7, and 4.0–4.7 serving as the individual input points. The process supply voltage (UP = +24 VDC) is connected to terminals 1.8, 2.8, 3.8, and 4.8, while the reference potential (ZP = 0 V) is connected to terminals 1.9, 2.9, 3.9, and 4.9. This grouped architecture simplifies wiring and allows common power distribution across each 8-channel block. The module draws approximately 2 mA from the 24 VDC supply in standby and 0.15 A during normal operation, with an inrush current of 0.008 A²s.
