The ABB DI811 (3BSE008552R1) is a 16-channel digital input module for the S800 I/O system, primarily used with ABB Ability™ System 800xA and Freelance control systems. It is designed for 48 V DC current sinking signals and features group-wise isolation.
The module actively monitors the health of the process connection and reports errors via the ModuleBus:
Process Voltage Supervision: Each channel group has a dedicated supervision input. If the 48 V DC process power is lost, the module generates a Channel Error signal.
Digital Filtering: Users can select filter times (2, 4, 8, or 16 ms) to protect against "contact bounce" or short noise pulses, ensuring only valid state changes are registered.
