The RDCO-0x module is to be inserted into the positionmarked “DDCS” on the drive. On installation, the signal andpower connection to the drive is automatically made through a20-pin connector.The module is held in place with plastic retaining clips and twoscrews. The screws also provide the earthing of module, andinterconnect the GND signals of the module and the controlboard.

The module uses four channels (CH0–CH3). Observe the transmitter (V_T) and receiver (V_R) labels:
Color Coding: Typically, Blue or Grey is for the Transmitter; Black is for the Receiver.
Cross-Connection: Always connect Tx from the drive to Rx on the external device (and vice-versa).
Handling: Do not exceed a 35mm bend radius for plastic fiber cables. Clean the fiber ends with lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol if they become dusty.
