Description

Allen-Bradley 1756-IF16 is a ControlLogix 16-channel analog input module providing voltage and current signal acquisition for industrial process control and monitoring applications. The module supports 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels configurable as ±10.25 V DC, 0–10.25 V DC, 0–5.125 V DC, 0–20.5 mV, 0–20.5 mA, 4–20.5 mA, or ±20.5 mA signals.

The 1756-IF16 features 16-bit resolution with 320 µV/bit voltage resolution and 650 nA/bit current resolution. Input impedance is 220 kΩ for voltage inputs and 249 Ω for current inputs. Calibrated accuracy is better than 0.05% of range, with module error of 0.15% for voltage and 0.3% for current. Offset drift is 50 µV/°C (voltage) and 100 nA/°C (current); gain drift is 25 ppm/°C (voltage) and 50 ppm/°C (current).

The module draws 150 mA from the 5.1V DC backplane and 65 mA from the 24V DC backplane, for a total backplane power of 2.33 W. Maximum power dissipation is 4.1 W at 60°C, with thermal dissipation of 13.97 BTU/hr.

Single-Ended Mode: Provides 16 independent channels that share a common return. All sensor returns should be tied to the RTN (Return) terminals.
