      The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RN15S is a ControlNet communication module. This is an optional adapter that is compatible for use with PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE operator terminals. Specifically, it may only be installed with PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE with display screens ranging from 7 inches to 15 inches or PanelView Plus 700-1500 as these operator terminals support additional modular communication.

      These communication module specifically supports ControlNet protocol. It comes with Two (2) ControlNet communication ports, channels A and B with One (1) RJ45 Network Access Port (NAP) used for module configuration. This module is installed on top of the logic module.

      The 2711P-RN15S Allen-Bradley ControlNet communication module may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

      To successfully configure and establish unscheduled ControlNet communication with the 2711P-RN15S, the configuration workstation and the PanelView terminal must have RSView Studio and RSView Machine Edition Runtime v3.10 or later for PanelView Plus 700-1500 and PanelView Plus CE 700-1500; RSView Studio and RSView Machine Edition Runtime v4.
       
      For ControlNet scheduled communication, the configuration workstation must have RSView Studio v3.20 or later for PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE 700-1500 and v4.0 or later for PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE for PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE 400-600. Appropriate RSView Machine Edition Runtime is v3.20.04.43 or later for PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE 700-1500 and v4.0 or later for PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE 400-600.

      Disconnect Power: Always remove all power from the terminal before installation to avoid electrical arcs or explosion hazards in hazardous locations.
      Align & Connect: Position the module over the terminal’s logic module, aligning the bottom connector. Ensure you touch the logic module first to prevent Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) before making the final connection.
      Secure Screws: Tighten the three captive screws to a torque of 0.34 to 0.45 Nm (3 to 4 lb-in) to ensure a stable connection.
