  • Provides Two Channels
  • User-Selectable Options
The 3300/55 is a Dual Velocity Monitor that provides two channels of continuous on-line machinery vibration monitoring for industrial rotating and reciprocating machinery. The 3300/55 accepts inputs from one or two Velomitor transducers, High Temperature Velomitor Systems (HTVS), or Velocity Seismoprobe transducers without the need for interface modules, simplifying system integration and reducing overall component requirements.

Flexibility is designed into the 3300/55. Many user-selectable options, such as high- and low-pass filter corner frequency options, can be easily reprogrammed in the field with plug-in jumpers. The 3300/55 features signal conditioning with a high-pass 2-pole filter (40 dB per decade, 12 dB per octave) and a low-pass 2-pole filter (40 dB per decade, 12 dB per octave), providing effective frequency domain filtering for accurate vibration measurement across a wide range of machinery operating conditions.

The 3300/55-01-04-12-12-00-00-07-00 Bently Nevada Dual Velocity Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300/55 provides user-programmable recorder outputs for each channel, configurable for +4 mA to +20 mA, 0 Vdc to -10 Vdc, or +1 Vdc to +5 Vdc. Voltage or current outputs from the 3300/55 are proportional to the programmed monitor full-scale, and individual recorder outputs are provided for each channel. Monitor operation of the 3300/55 is unaffected by short circuits on recorder outputs, ensuring reliable data acquisition and continuous monitoring even under fault conditions.
The 3300/55 features buffered transducer outputs with one coaxial connector per channel on the front panel and one terminal connection per channel on the rear panel. All buffered outputs of the 3300/55 are short-circuit protected and are jumper-programmable for filtered or unfiltered, velocity or displacement with peak-to-peak measurement capability, allowing the 3300/55 to be configured to match specific application measurement requirements.
Both Alert and Danger alarms in the 3300/55 are digitally adjustable from 0 to 100% of full-scale and can be set within LCD resolution (±1.6%) to the desired level. Once set, alarms in the 3300/55 are repeatable within ±0.39% of full-scale, providing consistent and reliable alarm triggering for machinery protection applications. The 3300/55 includes field-programmable options for alarm time delays, first-out logic, and Timed OK/Channel Defeat functions via plug-in jumpers.

Front panel: Use the single coaxial connector on the front panel for temporary testing, signals, or quick data checks per channel.
Rear panel: Make permanent field wiring choices on the rear terminal block using the "A" and "B" signal leads from the interconnect cable.
Channel mapping: Connect lead "A" to the corresponding "A" terminal and lead "B" to the "B" terminal on the monitor's rear input.
Protection: Verify that all connected lines are short-circuit protected and check jumper settings for correct output scaling (such as mV/in/s or integrated displacement mV/mil) before powering the rack.

Technical notes

The 3300/55 occupies two rack positions in the 3300 system rack (any positions except 1 and 2, which are reserved for the Power Supply and System Monitor) and weighs 2.8 kg. The 3300/55 carries CSA/NRTL/C certification for Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D T4 at +65°C and ATEX certification II 3G EEx nC [L] IIC T4 for ambient temperatures from -20°C to +60°C, making the 3300/55 suitable for installation in demanding industrial and hazardous area environments.

FAQs

  • What sensors are compatible with the 3300/55?

    +
Accepts one or two Velomitor® transducers, HTVS systems, or 2-wire Velocity Seismoprobe® transducers directly without extra interface modules.
  • How do I change filter corner frequencies?

    +
High- and low-pass filter corner frequencies are re-programmed in the field using internal plug-in jumpers on the circuit board.
  • What are the standard output options?

    +
Provides recorder outputs user-programmable for +4 to +20 mA, 0 to -10 Vdc, or +1 to +5 Vdc.
  • What is the purpose of the 2 mA recorder clamp option?

    +
When leveraging the +4 to +20 mA recorder output configuration, you can jumper-program the monitor to clamp its output to 2 mA during a NOT OK fault condition. This configuration allows an external control room DCS to accurately differentiate between a true sensor/wiring fault (2 mA) and a simple bottom-of-scale zero vibration measurement (4 mA).
