This probe features a 3/8-24 UNF imperial mounting thread with a 0.0-inch unthreaded length and an overall case length of 7.5 inches (190.5 mm). The probe tip diameter is 8.0 mm, constructed from Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), while the probe case is made from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel. This variant is supplied without armor.
The probe is equipped with a 0.5-metre 75 Ω triaxial cable using Fluoroethylene Propylene (FEP) insulation. The cable terminates in a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with a connector protector, featuring gold-plated brass contacts. The connector protector provides a seal against contamination and moisture ingress at the probe-to-extension cable connection point. The connector protector is an alternative to the FluidLoc cable option, though silicone tape is included as a supplementary sealing method. It is not recommended for applications where the probe-to-extension cable connection will be exposed to turbine oil.

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers an output voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface. The linear range is 2.0 mm (80 mils), spanning from approximately 0.25 mm to 2.3 mm, with an output voltage range of approximately -1 Vdc to -17 Vdc. The Incremental Sensitivity Factor (ISF) is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) with a ±5% tolerance (including interchangeability error) from 0°C to +45°C. The recommended radial vibration gap setting is -9 Vdc, corresponding to approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils).
The nominal DC resistance for the 1.0-metre probe is 7.59 ± 0.50 Ω; for the 0.5-metre variant, the resistance is proportionally lower. The probe operates over a temperature range of -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F) and maintains humidity tolerance with less than 3% ISF change after 56 days of 93% relative humidity exposure. The probe tip-to-case seal uses a Viton® O-ring; probes are not pressure tested prior to shipment.
