The Bently Nevada 330102-00-16-10-02-05 is a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe designed for non-contact measurement of shaft vibration, shaft position, eccentricity, and relative displacement in rotating machinery. It is part of the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System, which consists of a proximity probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor. The system is widely used in machinery protection and condition monitoring applications for steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, and generators.

This probe is the armored variant (330102) of the 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe series, distinguished from the non-armored version (330101) by the inclusion of flexible AISI 302 or 304 stainless steel cable armor with an FEP outer jacket. The armor provides enhanced protection against abrasion, crushing, and other mechanical damage in harsh industrial environments. The armor length is 300 mm (11.8 in) shorter than the total cable length, leaving a non-armored portion at the connector end.

The probe tip material is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), molded to the probe body using a patented TipLoc method that provides a robust bond. The probe case is constructed from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel. A Viton® O-ring provides effective differential pressure sealing between the probe tip and case. The maximum thread engagement is 0.563 inches. The probe is supplied with a standard M17 or 9/16-inch lock nut and two 10-24 UNC-2A mounting screws with pre-drilled safety wire holes.
Electrical connection is provided by a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with a connector protector pre-installed. The ClickLoc connector requires only finger-tight torque and features a locking mechanism that prevents loosening without special tools. The connector material is gold-plated brass or gold-plated beryllium copper for corrosion resistance and reliable electrical contact. A removable collar on the probe lead facilitates routing the cable through tight clearances. The connector maximum diameter is 7.23 mm (0.285 in).

Set the Probe Gap: Secure a mechanical gap of 2.5 mm (100 mils) between the probe tip and target surface. This centers the probe within its linear measurement range.
Torque the Case: Secure the case using the locknut. Tighten to the recommended installation torque of 15.2 N·m (133 in-lb). Never exceed 45.2 N·m (400 in-lb).
