The Proximitor Sensor uses eddy-current proximity measurement technology. When used with a compatible probe and extension cable, the system can measure the distance between the probe tip and a conductive machine target. The resulting signal can be used for radial vibration, shaft position, axial position, speed, and Keyphasor-related monitoring applications, depending on the connected machinery monitoring system.
The sensor typically operates from a -24 VDC supply and accepts a supply range of approximately -17.5 to -26 VDC, with maximum current consumption of approximately 12 mA. The typical 3300 XL 8 mm system scale factor is approximately 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm). System performance depends on the complete probe, extension cable, Proximitor Sensor, target material, probe gap, and installation conditions.
