These accelerometers are intended for critical machinery applications where casing acceleration measurements are required, such as gear mesh monitoring. The 330400 is designed to address the requirements of American Petroleum Institute Standard 670 for accelerometers. It provides an amplitude range of 50 g peak and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The 330425 is identical except it provides a larger amplitude range (75 g peak) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.

The 330400-01-00 Bently Nevada Accelerometer Acceleration Transducer may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The Bently Nevada 330400-01-00 is a 3-wire, piezo-electric shear-mode accelerometer designed for monitoring machine casing vibration on critical machinery, such as gear meshes. This model provides a 100 mV/g output, a 50 g peak acceleration range, and operates with a -24Vdc supply.
  • Industrial Gearboxes:Monitors gear mesh freq: early tooth wear detection
  • Centrifugal Compressors:High-speed casing vibration & aerodynamic instabilityc
  • Gas and Steam Turbines:Blade passing frequencies & structural resonances
  • Electric Motors (Large/Critical):High-frequency bearing issues & electrical faults
  • Boiler Feed Pumps:Critical pumping assets in power plants/offshore

Surface Preparation: The mounting site must be flat, clean, and dry, with a minimum diameter of 28.6 mm (1.125 in).Surface Finish: For optimal frequency response, the central one-inch region should be finished to 32 µinch rms.Coupling: Apply a light layer of silicone grease, such as Dow Corning 340, to the mating surface to ensure acoustic coupling at high frequencies.Torque: Tighten the accelerometer to 4.1 N·m (3.0 ft·lb) using a 15/16” hex socket.
