What is the function of this module?+It provides the physical I/O connectivity and internal terminations for the 3500/65 16-channel Temperature Monitor. It conditions raw sensor signals and forwards them to the monitor to check against alarm thresholds.

The monitor is programmed using the 3500 RackConfiguration Software. You can configure the 16-ChannelTemperature Monitor to accept isolated tip thermocouples,3-wire RTD, 4-wire RTD, or a combination of TC and RTDinputs.In Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) configurations, you mustinstall temperature monitors in groups of 3 adjacentmonitors. In this configuration the monitor uses 2 types ofvoting to ensure accurate operation and to avoid singlepoint failures.

- Compressors: Centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating process gas compressors

Sensor Leads: The module supports 3-wire RTDs, 4-wire RTDs (with modification 179952-01), and isolated tip thermocouples.Shielding: Use 16 to 22 AWG twisted shielded pair or triad cabling. Shields must be connected to the instrument earth at the barrier ground.Restrictions: Internal termination modules cannot be used with external termination blocks or cables.
