The cable's frequency response spans 0 Hz (DC) to 10 kHz (–3 dB), faithfully transmitting both the DC offset component (representing static gap distance) and the AC modulation component (representing dynamic vibration) from the probe to the Proximitor. This wide bandwidth ensures that low-frequency rotor unbalance (typically 1× running speed, e.g., 60 Hz for a 3,600 RPM machine) and high-frequency bearing defect frequencies (up to several kHz) are both captured with equal fidelity.
