The transmitter is a 2-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from a Bently Nevada 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable. The 3300 NSv probe is specifically selected for this application because its reduced tip diameter and compact body allow installation in tight clearances typical of centrifugal air compressors and small-frame rotating equipment. The transmitter conditions the eddy-current signal into appropriate peak-to-peak vibration amplitude engineering units and provides this value as a proportional 4-20 mA industry-standard signal to the control system where machinery protection alarming and logic occur.
