The 990 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for theoriginal equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal aircompressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer toprovide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal asthe input to their machinery control system.

The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device thataccepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and itsmatching extension cable (available in 5 m and 7 m systemlength options).

The transmitter conditions the signal into appropriate peakto-peak vibration amplitude engineering units, and providesthis value as a proportional 4 to 20 mA industry-standardsignal as the input to the control system where machineryprotection alarming and logic occurs.

The Bently Nevada 990-08-50-01-05 is a two-wire, loop-powered vibration transmitter for continuous monitoring of rotating machinery. It combines the functions of a proximity sensor signal conditioner and a 4–20 mA transmitter into a compact unit, allowing machinery vibration measurements to be integrated directly with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and other industrial control systems without requiring a dedicated monitoring rack.

Frequency response is 10 Hz to 1,000 Hz (-3 dB), covering the primary vibration frequencies of most rotating machinery. Output accuracy is ±5% of full scale with 0.1 mil resolution. The transmitter is calibrated for AISI 4140 steel targets with a minimum target diameter of 15 mm (0.59 in).
The transmitter operates as a two-wire, loop-powered device requiring 12 to 30 VDC from the receiving instrument. Power consumption is less than 1 W. Maximum load resistance is 600 Ω at 24 VDC. Input-to-output isolation is 500 VDC. Reverse polarity protection and integrated transient voltage suppression protect against wiring errors and electrical transients.
The aluminum housing is epoxy-coated for corrosion resistance and mounts on standard 35 mm DIN rail or directly to a panel. Target Surface: Must be made of a conductive material (e.g., AISI 4140 steel) and be at least 9.5 mm (0.375 inches) in diameter.
