A useful spare-parts enquiry begins with the measurement channel rather than the damaged component. The probe, extension cable and Proximitor Sensor form the transducer system described in Bently Nevada datasheet 141194 Rev. AN. Purchasing needs enough information to identify both the replacement and the components that will remain in service.
Which three part numbers belong in the enquiry?
Create one record headed by the machine tag, measurement location and channel reference. Transcribe the complete ordering numbers from the probe, extension cable and Proximitor Sensor, and keep readable label photographs beside them. Mark uncertain characters instead of filling gaps from a similar machine.
Identify what is being replaced and what is being retained. A quotation for one new probe must still be reviewed against the existing cable and sensor. A complete-set request should list all three supply items so an offer cannot silently omit the extension cable or mounting hardware.
Include the applicable plant drawing or bill-of-material revision and the name of the person who can resolve technical differences. This avoids asking a supplier to infer the approved configuration from a single catalogue description.
How does the system length check work?
The datasheet lists 5 m and 9 m systems using an extension cable, and a 1 m probe-only system. The specified probe length plus extension-cable length must equal the Proximitor Sensor total length. Use ordering lengths—not the probe case dimension or an estimate of the cable route.
Passing the arithmetic check resolves one configuration question. It does not approve thread geometry, routing, environment, signal use or the installed monitoring system.
Three product references make the check concrete.
These Amikon pages identify candidates for a worked 5 m length check. They are not a pre-approved kit and do not confirm availability. Retain every difference between the installed labels and the example codes.

The 10 total-length field corresponds to a 1.0 m probe lead. Review all remaining probe options against the installed requirement.

The 040 length code represents a 4.0 m extension cable. Keep cable construction, connector protection and approval fields visible.
↗330180-50-05
The 50 option selects a 5.0 m system; this model is panel mounted. Check total length and mounting against the other two lines.

What can still fail after the lengths match?
Ask the reviewing engineer to resolve probe fit, cable construction and routing, sensor mounting, environmental conditions and approval documentation. Record each outcome as accepted, rejected or awaiting evidence, with the applicable document revision.
| Review item | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Probe fit | Thread, case and unthreaded length; target and measurement application |
| Cable | Standard/ETR, armor or FluidLoc, connector protection, route and bend limits |
| Sensor | System length, mounting, calibration basis, power and field wiring |
| Approvals | Required markings and documents tied to the offered item |
| System | Connected monitor, configured channel and planned acceptance method |
If a supplier proposes another code, request a written difference list. An unexplained suffix change belongs in the technical review even when the principal model number looks familiar.
What should the quotation and receiving record contain?
Keep an evidence gap open rather than converting it into an assumption. A catalogue sheet describes a configuration; a photograph helps identify the offered item; a test record supports only the checks it documents. None substitutes for the others.
At receipt, compare delivered labels, quantities and accessories with the approved record. Record discrepancies before releasing parts to maintenance, then update the channel record after commissioning.
Decisions buyers should make with engineering.
Can only the damaged component be purchased?
Yes. Include the retained components in the reference information and obtain site approval for the resulting channel configuration. Buying all three parts together still requires that review.
What if the supplier offers only a generic compatibility statement?
Ask which exact requested code is being replaced, what differs and which controlled document supports the proposal. A useful response identifies unresolved checks as clearly as completed checks.
Does a matching family name establish suitability?
No. Complete ordering codes, system length, mechanical fit, cable options, approval requirements and the connected monitoring channel must still be reviewed.
Does a bundled quotation establish compatibility?
No. A three-part offer may simplify supply scope, but engineering suitability and acceptance evidence remain installation specific.
Does this guide prove compatibility with an Orbit 60 input module?
No. Datasheet 141194 Rev. AN does not establish compatibility with a particular Orbit 60 input module.
How Amikon can support a better specified enquiry.
Amikon is an independent supplier. Send the complete channel record, required quantities and label photographs when requesting a quotation. Ask Amikon to confirm the offered codes, available identification documents and quotation scope so purchasing and engineering review the same evidence.
Confirm commercial terms in writing. Any supplier warranty is separate from a manufacturer warranty, and a product-page listing does not establish authorization, stock or a dispatch date.
