Features:

  • Can be located up to 7500 feet (2275 meters) fromcontroller
  • Supports standard IC697 discrete and analog I/Omodulesr
  • Supports PCM, ADS, and analog expander module
  • Handles up to 128 bytes of inputs and 128 bytes ofoutputs per remote drop
  • Compatible with all types of IC66* host
  • Supports both CPU and IC66* bus redundancy
  • Each remote drop can include up to eight racks, with a Remote I/O Scanner located in rack 0
The IC697 Remote I/O Scanner (IC697BEM733/735) isan intelligent module that mounts in a remote IC697rack, and interfaces IC697 I/O modules to an IC66*bus The Remote I/O Scanner can handle any mix of discrete and analog inputs and outputs up to a total of1024 discrete inputs and 1024 discrete outputs, or 64analog inputs and 64 analog outputs (regardless of thenumber of racks in the remote drop). A remote dropcan include all presently-available IC697 discrete modules, analog modules, and analog expander modules.Bus Transmitter, Bus Receiver, PCM, and ADS modules can also be placed in a remote drop. A remotedrop cannot have any I/O module interrupts, bus controllers, communications modules, or other modulesthat depend on COMREQ instructions for their operations.

The IC697BEM733 GE Bus Expansion Module may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Together, a Remote I/O Scanner and the modules itserves make up a remote drop on the IC66* bus. A remote drop can consist of up to eight racks, linked byBus Transmitter and Bus Receiver modules. 9-slotand/or 5-slot IC697 racks can be used. The maximumdistance from the first rack to the last rack in a remotedrop is 50 feet (15 meters).
The Remote I/O Scanner is ideally suited for use in anIC697 PLC system. However, any type of PLC orcomputer capable of controlling an IC66* bus can beused as the host. Suitable hosts include IC660 PLCs,IC655 PLCs, and computers equipped with a PCIM(Personal Computer Interface Module), QBIM (Q-BusInterface Module), or a third-party GENI-based interface.
  • Packaging & Material Handling:Monitors sensors & coordinates conveyors for high-speed packaging
  • Water & Waste Management:Monitors pump status & tank level alarms in water treatment

The IC697BEM733 is a Genius Remote I/O Scanner module designed for the GE Fanuc Series 90-70 PLC system. It allows a remote rack of Series 90-70 I/O modules to communicate with a host PLC (such as another 90-70 or a 90-30 with a bus controller) over the Genius network, supporting up to 128 bytes of input and 128 bytes of output data per drop.
Remote Scanner vs. Bus Controller: The IC697BEM733 is a "slave" to a master controller (like a CPU running a 731 or 735), meant to report remote I/O data back to that master, rather than initiating bus communications itself.
Distance and Capacity: Like the 735, the 733 supports high-distance, robust communication over standard Genius network cabling.
