What is the function of the 10300/1/1?+It converts 24 Vdc supply voltage (from a plant's power system) into a stable 5 Vdc output to power system modules. It uses galvanic isolation to separate the input and output voltages for safety and noise reduction.

Where should it be installed in the rack?+Because 5 Vdc power limits are very tight (± 5%), Honeywell recommends placing this module as close as possible to the system bus (e.g., 12-SBUS) and using short, properly sized wires to minimize voltage drop.

The supply voltage of the FSC system is 24 Vdc, which can bepowered from the plant's 24 Vdc supply system with battery back-up.The FSC system uses an internal 5 Vdc to power the FSC modules.The 10300/1/1 DC/DC converter provides the internal 5 Vdc withgalvanic isolation between the two supply voltages.
The 10300/1/1 Honeywell DC/DC Converter Module may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Keep 10300/1/1 modules off-line for at least 30 seconds afterbeing on-line. 10300/1/1 modules have an NTC resistor as aninrush current limiter. Replacing (or repowering) the modulewithin 30 seconds after removal (or power-off) may cause asupply voltage dip which may trip the system (because the NTCresistor did not yet cool down sufficiently).
10300/1/1 modules without a suffix code and with suffixcode 04601 have an ON/OFF input on pin d14. This pinshould not be connected.
The 10300/1/1 module is a pin-compatible upgraded versionof the GK60 module.

Safety Cooling Period: If you remove or power off the module, keep it offline for at least 30 seconds before reconnecting or repowering. The module contains an NTC resistor to limit inrush current; if it doesn't cool down, it can cause a voltage dip that might trip the entire system.
Placement: This module must be placed closely to the system bus (such as 12-SBUS) because the 5 Vdc power supply limits are extremely tight.
Status Indicator: Note that in redundant configurations with single I/O, the output LED may remain "on" even if the specific 10300/1/1 module is switched off, as it can be energized by the redundant partner unit
