Description
The Triconex 4119A is an Enhanced Intelligent Communication Module (EICM) to enable the Tricon safety system to communicate with Modbus masters and slaves, TriStation 1131 programming workstations, and printers. The 4119A serves as the primary serial communication interface for the Tricon system, providing flexible connectivity options for data exchange, remote monitoring, and system configuration.
The 4119A contains four serial ports and one parallel port which can operate concurrently. Each serial port of the 4119A can be configured as RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485, with 500 VDC isolation ensuring electrical separation and protection against noise and transients. For Modbus connections, the 4119A user can select the RS-232 point-to-point interface for one master and one slave, or the RS-485 interface for one master and up to 32 slaves. The RS-485 network trunk of the 4119A can use one or two twisted-pair wires up to a maximum of 4,000 feet (1,200 meters).
