Description
The Triconex 4329G is a Network Communication Module (NCMG) for the Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS), enabling the Tricon controller to communicate with other Tricon controllers and with external hosts over Ethernet (802.3) networks. The 4329G has the same functionality as the standard NCM (4329) with the additional ability to synchronize time based on a GPS system, ensuring precise time-stamping for Sequence of Events (SOE) recording and coordinated control across distributed Tricon installations.
The 4329G provides two BNC connectors as Ethernet (802.3) ports using RG58 50-ohm thin cable, enabling reliable network connectivity. The 4329G's NET 1 port supports Peer-to-Peer and Time Synchronization protocols exclusively for safety networks comprised of Tricon controllers only, ensuring secure and deterministic inter-Tricon communication. The 4329G's NET 2 port supports open networking to external systems using Triconex applications or user-written applications that utilize the TSAA protocol.

Power Off (Recommended): While the Tricon supports hot-swapping, turning the chassis off or switching the Main Processor keyswitch to Program or Remote is recommended during comms module installation.
Align the Module: Carefully align the 4329G with the guide rails in the appropriate chassis slot.Insert and Secure: Push the module firmly into the backplane connectors. Tighten the captive screws at the top and bottom of the faceplate to ground and secure it.
