4351B - Tricon Communication Module
Triconex 4351B connects Tricon v10.3 and later controllers to serial devices and Ethernet hosts. It provides four RS-232/RS-485 serial ports with DB-9 connectors and two 10/100BaseT copper Ethernet ports with RJ-45 connectors.
Match the installed TCM generation, logical slot and protocol assignment before replacement. The two modules in a logical slot operate independently rather than as hot spares. Removing a TCM stops all communication through that module even when the controller remains online.

Can 4351B be installed in a v10.1 controller?
The compatibility table assigns 4351B to Tricon v10.3 or later. It lists 4351A and 4352A for v10.1-v10.2; check the exact system release before selecting a replacement. -
Does a 4351B accept a fiber cable directly?
No. It has two copper 10/100BaseT RJ-45 ports. The guide assigns fiber MT-RJ interfaces to other TCM models, so their specifications must not be applied to 4351B. -
Can an original 4351 stay elsewhere in the system after adding 4351B?
The guide prohibits installing 4351B in a system with 4351 or 4352, even in different chassis. Different TCM models also cannot share a logical slot. -
