Description

The TQ401, EA401 and IQS450 form a proximitymeasurement system from Meggitt’s vibro-meter product line. This proximity measurement systemallows contactless measurement of the relativedisplacement of moving machine elements.

The system is based around a TQ401 non-contactsensor and an IQS450 signal conditioner.Together, these form a calibrated proximitymeasurement system in which each componentis interchangeable. The system outputs a voltageor current proportional to the distance betweenthe transducer tip and the target, such as amachine shaft.

The active part of the transducer is a coil of wirethat is moulded inside the tip of the device, madeof Torlon (polyamide-imide). The transducerbody is made of stainless steel. The target materialmust, in all cases, be metallic.
