Description
The TQ402/TQ412, EA402 and IQS900 form aproximity measurement system, from Meggitt’svibro-meter® product line. This proximitymeasurement system allows contactlessmeasurement of the relative displacement ofmoving machine elements.TQ4xx-based proximity measurement systems areparticularly suitable for measuring the relativevibration and axial position of rotating machineshafts, such as those found in steam, gas andhydraulic turbines, as well as in alternators, turbocompressors and pumps.
The system is based around a TQ402 or TQ412non-contact sensor and an IQS900 signalconditioner. Together, these form a calibratedproximity measurement system in which eachcomponent is interchangeable. The TQ412 features a stainless steel probe case with a non-metallic probe tip (polyphenylene sulfide or ceramic) that is electrically insulated from the case. The probe tip diameter is 8.0 mm, providing a balance between measurement area and installation space requirements. The probe mounts via threaded connection into standard probe holders or brackets.

Target Material: The standard target is VCL 140 steel (1.7225). If using a non-standard target, factory correction curves will be required.
Gap Distance: Adjust the transducer so its tip sits at the nominal gap recommended by the machine manufacturer (typically in the middle of the conditioner's linear range, such as 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm).
