FAQs

  • What is the 193-EEGE?+
The Allen-Bradley 193-EEGE is a solid-state electronic overload relay designed to protect 3-phase electric motors from damage due to overloads, phase loss, and current imbalances.
  • What does it do?+
It continuously monitors motor current in real-time. If the current exceeds safe thresholds, it trips, disconnecting the motor circuit to prevent overheating and equipment failure.
  • Can it trip at different speeds?+
Yes, it features an adjustable trip class (Class 10, 15, 20, or 30) so you can match it to your motor's specific thermal capacity and startup requirements.
  • Does it require external power?+
No. It is a self-powered unit, meaning it taps its operating power directly from the motor circuit when the motor is energized.

The Allen-Bradley 193-EEGE is a premium E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relay to deliver advanced motor protection for standard industrial automation and motor control centers (MCCs). Capable of monitoring full load currents ranging from 18 to 90 A, the 193-EEGE is engineered to mount directly to Bulletin 100-C30 through 100-C85 contactors, or operate as a stand-alone DIN-rail/panel-mounted protection device using an optional terminal bracket. By utilizing solid-state technology rather than traditional bi-metallic strips, this electronic overload relay provides highly accurate and reliable protection against damaging thermal overloads.

The 193-EEGE Allen-Bradley E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relay may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The E1 Plus Pass-thru consumes 48% less panel space than a standardE1 Plus mounted in a panel mount adapter. The design provides anintegrated DIN Rail mount and panel mounting holes and is intendedfor the following applications: DIN Rail and Panel MountApplications, Bulletin 100-K mini contactor, external currenttransformers, and for use with non Allen-Bradley contactors. The E1Plus Pass-thru Electronic Overload Relay provides the sameexpandable protection and communication capabilities as a standardE1 Plus, but does not require a separate panel mount adapter, whichsaves money and valuable panel space.
  • Material Handling & Conveyance:Adjustable trip classes prevent nuisance tripping during belt startup
  • Fluid & Gas Handling:Phase-failure detection (3 sec) protects pumps/fans/compressors from burnout
  • Process Manufacturing Equipment:Accurate thermal modeling for mixers/grinders in varying ambients
  • Machine Tools:17V/5mA contacts communicate fault stops directly to CNC/PLC
  • Automotive Production:Continuous performance for robotic drives & stamping presses
