Description
The Bently Nevada 3300/01 System Monitor is a rack-mounted module that occupies one slot in a 3300 Series monitoring rack, installed exclusively in position two (adjacent to the Power Supply). It provides common system functions shared by all monitors in the rack, including alarm setpoint adjustment, Keyphasor signal conditioning and distribution, alarm acknowledgment, system reset, and power supply status indication. Two versions are available: the 3300/01-01 (basic system monitor without serial communications) and the 3300/01-02 (with an integrated Serial Interface supporting RS-232C or RS-422A connections).

The PlM on the right is the standard input module. Whenever the PIM is referenced pictorially in this document, the figure shown is the Serial Interface option PlM. In all these figures, the standard PIM may be substituted for the Serial Interface PlM. Ali connections to either PlM are the same, only the style of the connectors have been altered.
With the System Monitor, the computer interface capabilities of the rack are centralized without the need of extra components. Buffered Keyphasor signals are also provided on the front panel. These features, together with the buffered transducer signals on the monitor front panels and the monitor indicators that provide continuous readings individually per channel, make extra hardware (such as an external keypad, and/or a special cable connector card) unnecessary.

The 3300 system has been enhanced to upgrade the computer/communicationsinterface options. The 3300/03 SDI/DDI communication protocols were released in April1992 with external SDIX/DDIX, TDIX and TDXnet™ communication processors released inAugust 1992, July 1993 and December 1997, respectively. The internal Transient Dataenabled (TDe) communications processor was released in July 2004. 3300 componentsthat have been changed to implement these interface options are the System Monitor,AC and DC Power Supply, Rack Backplane, and individual monitor firmware. 3300systems that consist of all the upgraded components are referred to as an SDI/DDIsystem or TDe system. The SDI/DDI system uses the 3300/03 System Monitor and theTDe system uses the 3300/02 System Monitor.
