Description

The 3300/55 Dual Velocity Monitor provides two channels of continuous on-line machinery vibration monitoring. The monitor accepts inputs from one or two Velomitor@ transducers, High Temperature Velomitor Systems (HTVS), or Velocity Seismoprobe@ transducers without the need for interface modules.

Flexibility is designed into the Dual Velocity Monitor. Many user selectable options, such as high- and low-pass filter corner frequency options, can be easily (re)programmed in the field with plug-in jumpers.

Features:

  • Machinery Vibration Monitoring
  • Provides Two Channels
  • User-Selectable Options
The BENTLY NEVADA 3300/55-01-04-12-12-00-00-05-01 continuously measures vibration velocity from two independent machine locations. Each channel performs signal conditioning, vibration measurement, alarm comparison, and recorder output generation independently, allowing simultaneous monitoring of separate bearings or machine components. The module is widely applied to critical rotating equipment requiring continuous vibration protection.

The BENTLY NEVADA 3300/55-01-04-12-12-00-00-05-01 is configured for use with Bently Nevada 330500 Velomitor® velocity transducers (Input Option 04). Both monitoring channels display vibration in velocity units, and the 12 full-scale option specifies a measurement range of 0–20 mm/s Peak for Channel A and Channel B. This configuration is commonly selected for monitoring absolute bearing housing vibration in accordance with international machinery vibration standards.

The 3300/55-01-04-12-12-00-00-05-01 Bently Nevada Dual Velocity Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

If housing measurements are being made for overall protection of the machine, thought should be given to the usefulness of the measurement for each application. Most common machine malfunctions (imbalance, misalignment, etc) originate at the rotor and cause an increase (or at least a change) in rotor vibration. In order for any housing measurement alone to be effective for overall machine protection, a significant amount of rotor vibration must be faithfully
transmitted to the bearing housing or machine casing, or more specifically, to the mounting location of the transducer. In addition, care should be exercised in the physical instalation of the transducer. Improper installation can result in a decrease of the transducer amplitude and frequency response and/or the generation of signals that do not represent actual machine vibration Upon request, we can provide engineering services to determine the appropriateness of housing measurements for the machine in question and/or to provide installation assistance.

Rear Terminals: Connect field wiring leads from sensor "A" and "B" directly to the corresponding "A" and "B" terminal connections on the rear panel of the 3300/55 rack module.
Coaxial Access: Use the front panel coaxial connector per channel for temporary test readouts or signal verification using standard monitoring cords.
Shield Grounding: Terminate signal cable shields properly to system common ground to eliminate electrical noise and prevent false OK-circuit trips.

Technical notes

The BENTLY NEVADA 3300/55-01-04-12-12-00-00-05-01 installs directly into a standard 3300 Series rack and operates with compatible signal input/relay modules. The monitor continuously evaluates vibration levels, compares measurements with user-configured alarm thresholds, and provides visual indication of OK, Alert, Danger, and Bypass status on the front panel to support rapid condition assessment.

FAQs

  • What inputs does the 3300/55 accept?

    +
It accepts signals from one or two Velomitor transducers, High-Temperature Velomitor Systems (HTVS), or Velocity Seismoprobe transducers directly without extra interface modules.
  • Xiamen, China How do you change filter settings?

    +
High- and low-pass filter corner frequencies are re-programmed in the field using internal plug-in jumpers on the circuit board.
  • What do the front-panel displays show?

    +
Each channel features an independent 63-segment vertical liquid crystal display (LCD) bargraph indicating vibration levels.
  • Can it measure displacement instead of velocity?

    +
Yes, by configuration. While it primarily captures velocity signals, each channel is jumper-programmable with an internal integrator. This allows the monitor to convert velocity into peak-to-peak displacement readouts
