The 3300 XL probe and extension cable alsoreflect improvements over previous designs. Apatented TipLoc molding method provides amore robust bond between the probe tip andthe probe body. The probe’s cable incorporatesa patented CableLoc design that provides 330N (75 lbf) pull strength to more securely attachthe probe cable and probe tip.You can also order 3300 XL 8 mm probes andextension cables with an optional FluidLoccable option. This option prevents oil and otherliquids from leaking out of the machine throughthe cable’s interior.

Hole Preparation: The probe uses 3/8-24 UNF threads. Prepare the mounting hole using a 0.332 in (Drill Size) and a Q (Tap Drill Size).
Reverse Mounting: Thread the probe into the machine case or a probe adapter. The maximum thread engagement should not exceed 0.562 inches to prevent the tip from bottoming out.
Gapping: For standard AISI 4140 steel targets, the probe should be gapped at 1.27 mm (50 mils), which is the center of its linear range (-9 Vdc).
Tightening Torque: The recommended torque for the 3/8-24 probe case is 11.3 N·m (100 in·lb).
