  • Noncontacting
  • Gap-to-Voltage Transducer Systems

The Bently Nevada 21504-000-032-10-02 is an 8mm Standard Mount Proximity Probe belonging to the legacy 7200 series transducer systems. These probes are non-contacting sensors used to measure static and dynamic distances (shaft vibration and position) in rotating machinery.

The Bently Nevada 7200 5mm / 8mm Series Proximity Transducer Systems are noncontacting, gap-to-voltage transducer systems that measure static as well as dynamic distances between the probe tip and the observed target. The general application in any requirement for an accurate, noncontacting displacement measurement. However, the most common use is for shaft position and vibration measurements on rotating and reciprocation machinery. They are designed for use with virtually any machine type including gas and steam turbines, compressors, pumps, centrifuges, electric motors and generators. The system offer 80 mils (2mm) of linear measuring range and are compatible with API 670 requirements.

The 21504-000-032-10-02 Bently Nevada 5mm and 8mm Standard Mount Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This new technique of sccuring the coaxial cable to the probe tip provides the strongest junction yet offered by Bently Nevada and increases the durability of the probe during installation and usage.
Two new cable length options are now available on 8 mm probes. They are 5 metres and 9 metres of integral cable. Since the entire lead-length is built into the probe, an extension cable is not used with these length options. Ninc probe configurations are available to accommodate English and metric thread requirements. The 5 mm probes are constructed of fiberglass. The 8 mm probes are constructed of polyphenylene sulfide, (PPS), a high performance plastic capable of withstanding unusually harsh, wet and/or chemical cnvironments. Both transducers are suitable for usc in a confined space and offer 80 mils (2 mm) of linear range with a scale factor of 200 mV/mil(8 V/mm).
  • Radial Vibration Monitoring:Measures shaft vibration in turbines & pumps to detect imbalance/misalignment
  • Axial (Thrust) Position Measurement:Monitors axial shaft position to prevent thrust bearing failure
  • Speed/Keyphasor Measurements:Measures speed & phase reference signals on key machinery
  • Industrial Automation:Reliable non-contact sensors for harsh environments

Connect the probe to a Proximitor sensor and monitoring system.
Slowly thread the probe toward the target surface while monitoring the DC gap voltage.
For the 7200/3300 series, the standard "zero" or center-gap voltage is typically between −9 V and −11 V DC.
Once the desired voltage is reached, secure the probe with a locknut to prevent it from moving due to machinery vibration.
Use the miniature male coaxial connector (Option -02) to attach the probe to an extension cable.
Ensure all connections are tight and clean. For field wiring to the monitor, use three-conductor shielded triad cable.
