Description

The TK-3 Proximity System Test Kit simulates shaft vibrationand position for calibrating Bently Nevada monitors. It verifiesthe operating condition of the monitor readouts as well as thecondition of the proximity transducer system. A properlycalibrated system ensures that the transducer inputs and theresulting monitor readings are accurate.

Vibration monitors are calibrated using the motor-drivenwobble plate. A swing-arm assembly located over thewobble plate holds the proximity probe in place. Thisassembly uses a universal probe mount, identical to thatused with the spindle micrometer assembly. By using theabsolute scale factor of the proximity probe in conjunctionwith a multimeter, the user adjusts the probe to find aposition where the desired amount of mechanical vibration(as determined by peak-to-peak DC voltage output) ispresent. No oscilloscope is needed.

The Bently Nevada TK3-2E is a TK3 Proximity System Test Kit. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E is an electric-driven version of the test kit. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E simulates shaft vibration and position for calibrating Bently Nevada monitors. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E verifies the operating condition of monitor readouts and the condition of the proximity transducer system. A properly calibrated system using the Bently Nevada TK3-2E ensures that transducer inputs and resulting monitor readings are accurate.

The Bently Nevada TK3-2E uses a removable spindle micrometer assembly to check the transducer system and position monitor calibration. This assembly on the Bently Nevada TK3-2E features a universal probe mount that accommodates probe diameters from 5mm to 19mm (0.197in to 0.75in). The mount on the Bently Nevada TK3-2E holds the probe while the user moves the target toward or away from the probe tip in calibrated increments. The user records the output from the Proximitor Sensor using a voltmeter. The spindle micrometer assembly on the Bently Nevada TK3-2E also features a magnetic base for ease of use in the field.

The TK3-2E Bently Nevada Calibration Instrument may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The user can then compare a vibration monitor's reading to the known mechanical vibration signal input viewed by the proximity probe. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E provides a known mechanical vibration reference for verifying monitor accuracy. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E is for indoor use only. The maximum altitude for the Bently Nevada TK3-2E is 2000m.

The Bently Nevada TK3-2E has an operational temperature range of 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F). Temporary operation below minimum temperature is acceptable for the Bently Nevada TK3-2E. For extended continuous use, the maximum operating temperature of the Bently Nevada TK3-2E is 40°C. The storage temperature range of the Bently Nevada TK3-2E is -18°C to 65°C (0°F to 150°F). The Bently Nevada TK3-2E operates in 95% non-condensing humidity. The Bently Nevada TK3-2E is rated to meet IP54 for dust and water exposure when closed.

Voltage Selection: Prior to plugging in the unit, the 115/230 VAC selector switch on the front panel must be checked and set to match the local line voltage to avoid permanent circuit damage.
Environmental Constraints: The TK3-2E is rated exclusively for indoor use or controlled field environments, up to a maximum altitude of 2,000 meters and a maximum temperature of 40°C.Safety Clearing: The kit must be placed on a flat, stable surface. Technicians must keep all loose clothing, jewelry, and fingers clear of the exposed, rotating wobble plate.
