      The IC697CPU771 is a CPU module from the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform that is formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc, This CPU mainly features an embedded 80C186 microprocessor with a clock speed of 12 MHz with a Boolean execution time of 0.4 microseconds per boolean function. It comes with support for 2Kbytes of inputs and outputs (any combination) and up to 8 K analog inputs and outputs.

      The CPU 771 is a single slot PLC CPU which is programmed and configured by MS-DOS or Windowsbased programming software to perform real time control of machines, processes and material handling systems.The CPU 771 CPU communicates with I/O and smartoption modules over the rack-mounted backplane(IC697CHS750, 782, 783, 790, 791) by way of the VMEC.1 Standard format.Supported option modules include all IC697 LAN interface modules, several Coprocessor modules, BusController for IC660/661 I/O and Communicationsmodules, in addition to all of the IC697 family of discrete and analog I/O modules .

These software packages provide an intuitive user interface, providing a user-friendly programming environment. The IC697CPU771 supports the installation of additional 512 Kbytes of expansion memory. It also supports password-controlled access for limiting the accessibility of the contents of the user program. It is equipped with Three (3) status LED indicators indicating Module Ok, Run, and outputs currently enabled. This CPU module supports operation with I/O and smart option modules over the rack-mounted backplane (IC697CHS750, 782, 783, 790, 791) via the VME C.1 Standard format. It is also compatible with all IC697 LAN interface modules, Coprocessor modules, Bus Controller, and Communications modules. All IC697 families of discrete and analog I/O modules are supported by the IC697CPU771 processor.
