The bus controller also supports directed communications initiated by a PLC CPU Communication ServiceRequest. In addition, it may be configured to performglobal communications.Faults reported by the bus controller are managed bythe PLC Alarm Processor Function which time stampsand queues faults in a table.For applications requiring peer to peer informationtransfer, the Bus Controller can serve as a communications node linking other devices (Bus Controllers,PCIMs, and other IC66* devices) via the IC66* bus.Such a network can provide communications between multiple PLCs and host computers.
Soft Configuration: The module is configured via MS-DOS or Windows-based software, which is then stored in the CPU. The CPU updates the module's configuration upon power-up, preventing unauthorized physical tampering with settings.
Bus Protection: Bus Terminator plugs (75 ohm or 150 ohm) are required for installation to ensure signal integrity and protect against communication errors on the Genius network.
