The IC200EBI001 is an Ethernet Network Interface Unit (ENIU) from the VersaMax series that is manufactured by GE Fanuc, now Emerson Automation. The module’s primary function is to interface I/O modules over the ethernet network and act as local controller to the hosted I/O modules. This allows implementation of distributed I/O architecture. The IC200EBI001 is available in Two (2) releases. Module version 1.0 supports installation of up to 8 I/O modules without support for expansion rack however, Module release 1.1 and later modules can support up to 64 I/O and allows installation of up to 7 expansion racks. It supports up to 1024 bytes of I/O where up to 512 bytes of inputs and 512 bytes of outputs can be configured as well as fault data amounting to 128 bytes.
The IC200EBI001 can be assigned with any valid IP address, depending on the network that this module will be part of. The module’s default IP address is 195.0.0.x with x depicting the position assigned by the rotary switches. For configuration of IP address, the provided Three (3) rotary switches labelled as X1, X10 and X100 are set to provide IP address to this module. Alternatively, IP address may be defined with the use of the DOS command prompt using the arp-s command.
ESD Protection: Includes a side connector cover that must remain in place on the last carrier to protect internal pins from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and physical damage during handling.
Mechanical Security: Features a locking latch system for the attached power supply. The unit must be in the "locked" position during operation to ensure the power supply remains securely connected and to prevent intermittent power loss.
Grounding Protection: Requires installation on a 35mm x 7.5mm conductive, unpainted DIN rail to ensure proper grounding of the system.
Environmental Clearances: To prevent overheating, the manufacturer specifies minimum clearances to maintain rated thermal performance.
