PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Conformal-coated main processing with revision-specific compatibility checks
ICS Triplex T8111C is the conformal-coated Trusted main processor. Three fault containment regions execute the configured program in synchronisation, vote process information and exchange data with analogue and digital modules through the triplicated inter-module communications bus in the controller chassis.
Hardware-implemented fault tolerance combines triplicated processing with automatic fault handling and diagnostic tests. The processor provides serial diagnostic access, IRIG-B time synchronization and active or standby fault contacts, with front-panel indicators reporting module status.

Is this a main processor or an expander module?
It is the main processing component in the controller chassis. It executes the configured program and coordinates I/O data. An expander processor has a different location and communication role and is not an equivalent replacement. -
Can the processor be removed while indicating ACTIVE?
No. The manufacturer warns that removing an ACTIVE processor can cause shutdown. Follow the complete changeover procedure and verify the original has entered Standby before removal; forced I/O can inhibit that transfer. -
Is the special T8110B IRIG-B adapter required?
RM038 states that T8111 can obtain IRIG-B and serial access through T8120 and does not require the special T8110B IRIG-B adapter. Use the exact processor pinout and verify the installed adapter configuration rather than reusing a generic wiring assumption. -
Does a reset prove that the processor fault is repaired?
No. Reset clears recorded faults and counters and requests other modules to do the same. Record the diagnostic fault code first, then investigate recurring indications under the manufacturer maintenance procedure. -
Can a large T8111 program always transfer to a T8110B standby?
No. RM038 permits a maximum application size of 960 KB and warns that applications larger than 860 KB may not allow handover to a T8110B standby. Verify the actual program and approved processor pairing before a generation change. -
Which early Series B configurations need additional review?
PSA 2018-11-001 identifies O10/O11 firmware in dual-processor configurations. PN 2019-04-002 Revision B identifies hardware issue O or older with specified older communications modules. Why must the sleep period and firmware also be checked?
PN 2022-02-001 identifies possible I/O shutdown when a T8110B is replaced by T8111C Series B with an ISaGRAF sleep period below 32 ms. PN 2021-02-004 separately concerns basic peer-to-peer firmware through 4.000. Obtain current manufacturer correction guidance before deployment. -
Do the equipment dimensions establish packed shipping measurements?
