The module accepts 32 differential, DC-coupled analog input channels supporting 0–5 VDC or 0–10 VDC nominal input ranges with +6% overrange tolerance. The DC-coupled architecture (as opposed to the transformer-isolated design of the 3701 module) enables accurate measurement of slowly varying and near-DC process signals without the low-frequency roll-off characteristic of AC-coupled systems. The differential input architecture rejects common-mode noise induced by adjacent power cabling, variable-frequency drives, and electromagnetic interference sources, while the high 10 MΩ input impedance minimizes current draw from high-impedance sensor outputs such as pH probes and ion-selective electrodes. Input impedance is 10 MΩ (DC) typical with 10 MΩ (DC) typical power-off resistance, ensuring that sensor circuits are not loaded down even when the Tricon system is de-energized
