One ET 200MP interface for three Ethernet fieldbus protocols
The Siemens 6ES7155-5MU00-0CN0 is an IM 155-5 MF High Feature interface for ET 200MP. It connects distributed I/O through PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP, using a separately selected BusAdapter for the physical network connection.

Match the protocol, backplane and station data layout
Start with the intended controller protocol rather than treating the three supported networks as interchangeable. The MultiFieldbus Configuration Tool creates configuration and mapping resources, including EtherNet/IP EDS and UDT files and a CSV mapping. Select the fieldbus and review the modules approved for that protocol before assigning station data.
Separate the active-backplane arrangement from a conventional U-connector station. The integrated supply provides sixteen watts, and an active-backplane build allows up to twelve I/O modules subject to power budgeting. The larger U-connector arrangement relies on the documented upstream and downstream supply configuration; it is not an unconditional module-count allowance.
PROFINET data sizing requires gross and net calculations rather than simply summing channel payloads. The manual includes submodule overhead and special counting for S2 redundancy. Network services also remain protocol dependent: PROFIsafe support on PROFINET must not be restated as CIP Safety, which the technical table marks as unavailable.
